I couldn’t make up a better title for the first post of this new blog, than the standard WordPress title. “Hello world” exactly expresses the intention of this blog. The world is both my audience and the subject of this blog, at least representations of the world in the form of maps.

From time to time I will try to offer you a glimpse of the magnificent story of maps: early and more recent maps (history of cartography), strange features, georeferencing, and much more.

As a starter, a fictitious map used by a bank company to promote its job fair, including the motto “KBC World, make an incredible career journey”.
